This blog is intended to document personal learning adventures in the field of Interaction Design and also progression through a doctoral program in Communications Design.
I’m a Principal Artificial Intelligence Engineer with The MITRE Corporation. My academic specialty is in Computational Linguistics. But after starting up a human-centered design group at MITRE, I’ve begun to more specialize in applying principles of Interaction Design to Natural Language Processing.
I’ve also begun thinking about how Artificial Intelligence may also be exploited to improve both design and user experience in a new paradigm of (artificial) Intelligent Design (aID) — not to be confused with the existential Intelligent Design. Drawing on my interest in both maps and computational linguistics, I am interested in how maps may be generated from natural language.
Academic publications can be found here. There has been a bit of a hiatus in external publication for me as I pursue a new curriculum.
Here is my K9 SAR Blog.
